He started his Formula 1 career in 2019 with Toro Rosso. In the middle of the season, he switched to Red Bull and became Max Verstappen’s new teammate. Albon raced for the Austrian team in 2020 as well but was as far behind Verstappen as his predecessor Gasly. For this reason, Red Bull decided to engage Sergio Pérez instead of Albon for 2021. In 2021, Albon raced GT3 cars in the DTM, but Red Bull still found a place for him to return to F1. He signed up with Williams and, after scoring some good results with his uncompetitive car, earned a place for this year.
