If you’re going to the Austrian Grand Prix at the Red Bull Ring with a general admission ticket, you’re in for a great weekend. The track is set in beautiful countryside and has some of the best GA viewing spots on the calendar. Some areas, like Turns 3 and 4, are part of the designated Green Tickets zone, which gives access to viewing banks with excellent views and nearby big screens. But there are also plenty of other great places to explore around the track as with natural hills around the circuit, it’s easy to find a good place to watch the action. Here’s a quick guide to help you find the best spot for your race weekend.
Turn 2
Turn 2 is more of a kink than a full corner, but it’s still worth a visit. From the top of the hill, you get a wide view of the track and can watch the cars going full speed uphill towards Turn 3. It’s also a quieter place to sit and enjoy the view. This area has big screens too, so you can follow the rest of the race while watching the cars fly past.
Turns 8 and 9
If you head towards Turns 8 and 9, you’ll find another good viewing area. Here, the cars are much faster and the track flows smoothly. Turn 9 especially is one of the quickest on the circuit. Watching the cars take it almost flat-out is an amazing sight. There’s usually a bit more space in this part of the track, so it’s a good option if you arrive later in the day.
Turn 3 – Remus
Turn 3 is one of the most exciting places to watch from in General Admission. It’s a tight right-hand hairpin at the top of the hill, where the cars come flying in after a long straight. This means there’s often heavy braking, overtaking, and lots of action.
The grassy area around Turn 3 is on a natural slope, so you get a great view of the corner and the straight leading up to it. On clear days, you can also see parts of Turn 2 and Turn 4 from the same spot. There are big TV screens nearby too, which helps you keep track of what’s happening around the rest of the circuit.
Turn 4 – Schlossgold
Just after Turn 3, the cars head down towards Turn 4. From the outside of this corner, you can see them brake hard and fight for position. This spot is a bit less busy than Turn 3, but still offers a good view of the action. The grass banks give you a clear look at how the cars handle this downhill part of the circuit.
