The Mexican’s F1 career was already looking bleak. After rather mediocre performances at Sauber, McLaren, Force India and Racing Point, it seemed he would not find a place for 2021. But then he won his first race at the 2020 As-Sahir Grand Prix, convincing Red Bull to give it a go. He is now enjoying the best period of his career with the Austrian stable. After another victory at the 2021 Azerbaijan Grand Prix, he added two more in the 2022 season, which also saw him achieve his greatest overall success. He finished third.
